Wilco and Co.

I have made quite a few radio stations on Pandora.com, but I have to say the best one I've found is the Wilco radio station.

(For those of you who don't know what Pandora Radio is, it is "the personalized internet radio service that helps you find new music based on your old and current favorites." It basically plays music that it thinks you will like based on the radio stations you create. So, if you were to create a radio station for Pink Floyd, it would play Pink Floyd and music that is like Pink Floyd. It is quite awesome!)

Anyway, back to Wilco. First of all, I must admit that for some crazy reason, I just recently started to listening to Wilco (fueled by the Mermaid Avenue Cd's), and I wish I had been listening to them all of my life. Anyway, here is a list of the first 20 songs played on my Wilco radio station on Saturday while I was working on photos.

I loved each song, and if you don't know who some of these musicians are, then I suggest you find them, listen to them, and fall in love with them too!

Summer Teeth by Wilco

Living Life by The Eels

Dancing With The Women At The Bar by Whiskeytown

Sing, Theresa Says by Greg Laswell

I Thought I Held You by Wilco (My favorite Wilco album!)

Still Be Around by Uncle Tupelo

Summer Skin by Death Cab for Cutie

Someday by the Strokes

Dreamer In My Dreams by Wilco

Edie

This wonderful streak of nice weather has made me very optimistic that Spring has finally sprung!

The sunshine and cool breezes convinced me to take my dear Edie out of her winter hibernation. She looked and felt just as I remembered!

As John F. Kennedy so wisely said, "Nothing compares to the simple pleasure of a bike ride."

Butterscotch Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies

So my man is away for a month in Florida...I can't go out and drink my heartache away because Aggieville has its stupid Fake Patty's Day drunk fest today (I already worked during it, you can't pay me enough to go back down there!)...so instead I bake. And what did I bake you ask? Butterscotch Pecan Chocolate Chip Cookies (I still have a while to go before swimming suit season, right?!)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine 3/4 cup brown sugar, 3/4 cup granulated sugar, 1 cup butter softened, and 1 teaspoon vanilla and beat until creamy.

Add 2 eggs and beat.

Add 2 1/4 cups flour, 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1 teaspoon baking soda and mix well.

Stir in 1/2 bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 bag of butterscotch chips.

Stir in 1 cup chopped pecans.

Drop mixture by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes.

It says it should make 100 2-inch cookies, but I eat so much cookie dough while I'm baking, it ends up being way less!!

Well, I still miss ol' Ike, but baking (eating!) the cookies has helped....maybe it's because I'm over at his place (far, far away from Aggieville!!!).

Either way, let the countdown begin.....18 days (253 cookies) until I see him!!!

Girls, Girls, Girls

Nothing replenishes the soul like a girls' night: good food, good friends....and of course good wine.

My group of girlfriends and I have gone through a huge year of transitions: new babies, new engagements, new loves, new endeavors and new newlyweds. These roads we have all taken have lead us to such wonderful places, but these roads have also kept us very busy. We finally made it a point to get together and just enjoy each others company.

I feel strengthened just by having a few hours with my best gals (although we did miss having Erin and Denali there with us)! They are so positive and encouraging, I really don't know how I would get through my life without them. Each is so unique and beautiful; they just amaze me! I hope each of them knows how important they are to me!

I also want to let a few of my long distance gal pals (Maggie, Andrea and Kyleigh) know how much they inspire me every day. Even though they aren't here to join in our girls' nights, they are in my heart every day!

Let the women in your life know how happy they make you.....

Happy Feet...

My new sandals I haven't got to wear yet because, well, it's winter

I try not to be a materialistic person....but damn I love my shoes. Flats, heels, boots, sandals, it doesn't matter, they all make me happy. I have multiple pairs of heels, and I don't even really like wearing heels (unless they are wedges, which are easy to walk in).

I used to wear a pair of 4-inch stilettos when I would go out, but after walking home 10 blocks in them, they were retired (for the most part). Now, I much prefer my moccasins...

my feet are much happier now....

The most comfortable pair of shoes I own!

Oh my little wingtips...

These heels are vintage from the 1940's, big thanks to Olsen's for fixing them up for me!

My ol' Merrill hiking shoes

These are my mock vintage heels from Urban Outfitters

My vintage faux Frye boots....don't tell!!!

Heels from my favorite era...Disco!!!

I've danced my booty off in these little booties....they have definitely seen better days!

I just bought these cute little wedges yesterday at Rockstar & Roger's for $6! I think they will travel with me to Florida in a few weeks!
